Our Mission- To protect sleep, dignity, and independence for ostomates

What We Believe

Dignity over dependence. Technology should give people control back, not remind them of vulnerability.

Quiet reassurance, not fear. We won't sell you on catastrophe. We'd rather help you feel calm.

Trust is earned, not claimed. We listen to stoma nurses, patients, and the people who've actually lived this — not just our own assumptions.

Simple, not one more thing to manage. If it adds friction to your day, we haven't done our job.

Honest, always. We won't promise more than we can deliver.

Built for everyone. Affordability isn't an afterthought here — it's the whole point.

Our Story

My dad lived with a stoma bag.

Some nights, gas built up until the bag ballooned and the seal gave way. Other nights, it simply came loose while he slept — and he'd wake to find the damage already done. No warning. Just cleanup, and a quiet kind of humiliation that never really goes away.

We used to talk about it at the dinner table. Half looking for anything that might help, half just needing to say it out loud. There wasn't much out there. So eventually, that dinner table conversation turned into something else — an idea for a way to know before something goes wrong, not after.

That idea became StomaShield.

But the more I looked into it, the more I realised my dad wasn't who needed this most. He could get up. Exhausted, frustrated, but able. I started thinking about the people who couldn't do that — someone without a carer nearby, someone living with dementia who might not even understand what had happened, someone recovering from surgery, too weak to move fast enough. For people in that position, a bag failing overnight isn't just a bad night. It can mean lying in their own waste until someone finds them.

That's the moment this stopped being a device for my dad, and became something I felt I had to build, full stop.

I'm a medical student, not yet a doctor. I'm building StomaShield because someone I love went through this — and because I can't stop thinking about the people going through something even harder, alone.
